Winning entries show there is love to be found in the library

The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) is pleased to announce the winners of the ALIA Library Lovers’ Day 2019 story writing competition. In 2019, ALIA ran a 200–word story writing competition, story submissions were based off the prompt ‘there was love to be found in the library’.

ALIA has selected three winners, who will each receive a $100 book voucher. You can read the stories on the ALIA website and download the story posters.

ALIA CEO Sue McKerracher said, ‘We received more than 500 entries to the competition from people of all ages. Our winning entries – two stories and a poem – were outstanding, but our judges said the standard overall was very high. There is clearly a lot of love for libraries in the community’.
