My Health Record opt out information for libraries

ALIA is supporting the distribution of information to consumers about the My Health Record opt out period, which has been extended until 15 November, 2018. The ALIA Australian Public Library Alliance has agreed that public libraries will receive deliveries of Australian Government information packs, knowing that many libraries are dealing with user enquiries on a daily basis.

Library staff can find out more on the My Health Record website, where there is a useful video, which takes a step by step approach if someone wants to opt out. There is also information on this page about how to set privacy and security controls.

Information packs have been distributed to Australian public libraries and are available for other libraries, especially health libraries, where there are likely to be consumer queries – contact advocacy@alia.org.au if you would like a set of 25, 50 or 100 packs.
