Wednesday, 10 January 2018, Canberra: ALIA has released the results from its 2017 Membership Survey.
To give all ALIA Members the opportunity to provide feedback, every two years ALIA carries out a Membership survey. In 2017, the survey took place from 31 July to 28 August. It was similar in content to those carried out in 2015 and 2013, to help the ALIA Board assess changes in Member interests and concerns. There was a great response to the survey with 748 ALIA Members responding. Analysis of the responses found that 87% of respondents participated in some form of professional development; 91% of respondents read INCITE; 95% of respondents who had been in contact with ALIA staff were either 'satisfied' or 'very satisfied' with the level of service they received; and that the advocacy and lobbying work done by ALIA was seen as the most important aspect of ALIA's work, closely followed by professional development.

Members are encouraged to provide feedback about ALIA at any time. They can do so through the ALIA Board, their ALIA State or Territory Manager, or through the team at ALIA House.
