Lorteo Kirribilli, an independent non-selective Roman Catholic day school for girls established in 1908. is located on the lower North SHore of Sydney. The campus includes both a Junior and Senior School. The Loreto values of Veracity, Felicity, Freedom, Sincerity and Justice form the foundation of the school ethos.
The Senior Library supports the resource needs of 836 students in Years 7-12, 96 teaching and 72 support staff. The library is based on flexible design principles with six spaces that are designed to be fluid and can be booked individually. Those spaces can be merged into larger spaces or rearranged easily through the use of accoustically treated glazed operable walls and flexible mobile furniture. The Library program encourages wide reading and created writing and promotes Guided Inquiry to develop enterprise skills required by our students to meet their needs into the future. The Library is seen as the innovative hub of the school and the centre for learning.
The Library is open from 7.30am to 6pm every weekday and is also open for Year 12 students in Term holidays. Study Mentors selected from high achieving ex-students, are available every afternoon to assist with homework and assignment strategies.
