Junior School Library - Duncraig Campus, St Stephen's School
New build or refurbishment: Refurbishment
Architect: CODA Studio
Project completed: 25/01/2016
St Stephen's School is a k-12 school; it is a Christian community in the Uniting church tradition. Our school is housed over 3 campuses, the Duncraig Primary library services children from year 3 to 6.
Our library provides reading and information resources with programs to service the primary school. The equivalent of one fulltime teacher librarian and one fulltime Library Officer provide the services for the library. Our school library and information programs are the heart of our school. We are located in physical centre of the building and are integral to the learning and teaching goals of the school.
At St Stephen's library we have developed flexible learning spaces to educate children for an exciting future. Our flexible learning spaces help children collaborate and learn in group settings, yet can be adapted to suit quiet, independent learning when the situation demands.
We have developed a cafe within the library to encourage our parents to be part of our community. It also provides a space for parent workshops.
