New Librarians Symposium 8 Wrap Up – the latest LIS Initiatives, Technology and Thinking
 
ALIA Tas and LINC Tasmania extend a warm invitation to all library and information professionals, no matter what stage of your career (including non-members), LIS students and those interested in working in our industry to join us to hear short and snappy presentation highlights from the eighth ALIA  New Librarians Symposium recently held in Canberra.
 
Three Tasmanian attendees Kate Roberts, Karina Tumon and James McGoran will deliver presentations on the main themes of NLS8: taking the initiative and finding new opportunities; community engagement; professional reflection and growth; and emerging technologies. Both Karina and James will be giving an adapted version of their NLS8 presentations.

When: Thursday, 31 August, 4.30pm – 5.30pm 
Where: Room 2, Glenorchy LINC, 4 Terry Street (Kate and Karina will present from Glenorchy)
 
Launceston LINC Room 1, Level 2 (James will present from Launceston)
 
The event will also be available at Devonport LINC, Devonport Training room
