ALIA New Grads – Ask an Information Professional Event

Primary tabs

When you’re a new librarian, you may find yourself with lots of questions. Questions about your job, about your career and about the profession.

We want to give you a chance to get your questions answered so we’ve put together a crack group of experienced information professionals, both librarians and library technicians. This group includes people from public, special, academic and state libraries.

The evening will start with a screening of a video made during sessions at NLS6 and Information Online conferences where new librarians asked questions and experienced professionals answered them. This short video may give you some more ideas.

Then we will give you the opportunity to mingle, chat and ask questions with our experienced professionals and your peers in a relaxed, informal environment.

This is a free event, but it would be great if you could bring a plate of nibbles to share. While it is aimed at students and new graduates, other information professionals are welcome to attend.

Bring: Nibbles to share and any burning questions you have
