The Learning and Teaching Services within Library and Learning Services bring this to life by providing academic, information, and digital literacy support to the University’s students, academics and researchers.
This position sits in the Library and Learning Services Library Academic Engagement Services team and reports to the Coordinator, Library Learning and Teaching Services. Incumbents will have a subject focus on law, but will be expected to apply their expertise across disciplines in line with Griffith’s multidisciplinary approach. The Librarian will contribute to Griffith’s teaching, learning and research goals by providing proactive, discipline-based scholarly information and communication services to academics and students. This position will work individually and as part of multiple teams to partner with academics across all stages of the teaching lifecycle to enhance student outcomes through effective use of library information and communication services and tools.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering tailored workshops to groups, both on campus and online, with a focus on the law and criminology schools.
- Developing online resources for the Library site and for embedding within courses, e.g., videos, learning modules with a focus on law and criminology.
- Consulting one-on-one with students who need assistance to develop academic skills with a focus on law and criminology.
This position is full-time and based between the Nathan and Mount Gravatt campuses. Regular travel to other campuses at the Gold Coast, Logan, and South Bank will be required as part of this role.
The Library Learning and Teaching team in the Academic Engagement Group is now recruiting for a Librarian (HEW 6) role as a permanent, full time member of staff. If you’re interested in teaching and learning, and are both curious and kind, this is the role for you. The role will reward those who are easy-going and flexible, have excellent communication and teamwork skills, strong technological skills, and who are open to creating and delivering high-quality content in both the digital and physical worlds, as well as interacting face-to-face and virtually with student learners. Being unflappable in face of the peaks and troughs of the academic year would be a bonus, as would a high level of skill in legal research. This is an exciting opportunity to support students and be part of a wonderful team.
