I specialise in literary and speculative fiction, Australian gothic fiction, particularly coastal or contemporary gothic and regional writing, including issues faced by writers, particularly regional writers.
My research and writing has an environmental focus, including moral dilemmas around the use of genetic editing, the depiction of kangaroos and other animals in fiction and issues around landscape and the future. I have worked on public art projects as lead writer.
I am an experienced university lecturer and have appeared at festivals as speaker and facilitator.
