 Statement of professional concerns:

Technology influences library service development and continues to drive successful transformation.  Engaging with the digital environment and understanding its impact is more necessary than ever.  Research shows libraries are increasingly valuable to individuals, communities and society.  They are a place for personal growth and reinvention, a place for help in navigating the digital age, and safe, trusted social and learning spaces. We must ensure libraries continue to hold a vibrant and relevant place in communities, in education, research and industry, supporting the national and local social dialogue, and being recognised by government as key social and educational infrastructure.
