Board of Directors

ALIA is governed by its Board of Directors according to the Association's Constitution and By-laws.

Directors are elected by members and successful candidates take office following the Annual General Meeting that usually takes place in May.  Board positions are held for the following periods:
  • President; one year
  • Vice-President; one year until the AGM when the Vice-President assumes the Presidency
  • Director positions; two years with the option to stand for a second term.

Nominations for Board of Director positions are generally sought between November and January with elections taking place from March to April. Further Information about the election process is available on the Board elections webpage.

Directors sit on Board Sub-Committees and liaise with ALIA Advisory Committees and these are described on the ALIA Committees webpage.

ALIA Directors agree to abide by the terms outlined in the ALIA Board of Directors Code of Conduct.

More information about how the Board works and what it means to be a member of the Board can be found here.
