INCITE has been ALIA’s flagship publication and industry magazine for decades, sharing news, research, and professional insight from across the Australian library and information sector. Over time, it has evolved alongside the profession, reflecting changing priorities, emerging ideas, and the voices of its members.
Moving beyond the quarterly digital magazine format in 2026, INCITE is now a living, digital hub—bringing you timely stories, sector insights and voices from across the profession, all in one place. This site is open to everyone to read and discover,—bringing more eyes to the stories that matter to the sector, and amplifying the voices, ideas and impact shaping libraries and information services today. You can still explore past editions of INCITE below and through the AustLit database.
We will now welcome article submissions and pitches from across the library and information sector all-year round and encourage you to share ideas you think would resonate with our readership. You can find out more here.
AustLit
INCITE in conversation is a series of bi-monthly discussion panels that coincide with the release of each issue of INCITE magazine. It offers contributors the opportunity to discuss their article in more depth, and respond to questions from a live online audience. All recordings of past INCITE in conversation events can be found on the ALIA Youtube Channel.
