From the Regional Engagement Manager: November happenings – a Mini-Conference, Library awards, trivia and member meet-ups

After recently visiting ALIA Members in Melbourne, I’m writing this to you from beautiful Meanjin/Brisbane, where I’ve been connecting with ALIA Members at a Southbank dinner and attending the fantastic ALIA QLD Mini-Conference at the State Library of Queensland.

There was also occasion to celebrate 2 long-time Mentors in the ALIA Mentoring Scheme, with the presentation of ALIA Silver Pins. Congratulations Lisa Bateman and Sam Searle, and thank you for providing guidance and insight to up-and-coming library professionals. Silver Pins are awarded to ALIA Members who have made significant contributions to the Association over a number of years.

There are some fun opportunities for CDP, networking and socialising coming up this month. My highlights are below, with more on the events and training page.
