ALIA ALIES

ABOUT ALIES

Australasian Libraries in Emergency and Security (ALIES) is a cooperative information network which aims to serve and support the common interests of law enforcement, emergency services, and security agencies connected with human, natural, industrial and technological events and disasters.

ALIES supports the information requirements and research of these agencies by sharing knowledge, expertise and resources within Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific region, and Asia.

This collaboration strengthens the specialized and uniqueness of each agency’s individual collection, as well as providing greater access to resources for our clients through our Libraries.

The vision of ALIES is to inform and promote the value of libraries and information professionals in the emergency and security sector.

MEMBERSHIP AND INTERLIBRARY LOANS

Membership to ALIES provides agencies with access to the ALIESnet site, which is the Interlibrary Loan request system for libraries participating in the Australasian Libraries in Emergency and Security.

Member libraries must add their basic and/or unique holdings to ALIESnet for it to be the most effective tool for resource sharing and collaboration between ALIES member libraries.
