Purpose
For the ALIA Special Libraries and Information Services Advisory Committee and other associations active in the specials space to meet to:
- Identify shared issues and opportunities
- Prioritise research and other activities that could support joint advocacy and professional recognition for the sector
- Potentially agree a draft action plan for working together over the next three years.
Participants
An inclusive event for approximately 20 participants from special library-related associations, with other leaders from the sector - chair, former ALIA President Julie Rae.

Feedback, questions and discussion about matters arising from the case studies. |

Work together to identify emerging themes around advocacy, professional recognition and any other topic arising from previous discussion; brainstorm activities including research, partnerships, direct approaches and campaigns, to further the specials agenda. Prioritise activities based on need, likelihood of success, capacity, probable engagement of partners and availability of funding. Create the basis for a draft action plan for 2017-2020 for organisations to take back to their executives for further discussion and agreement by the end of 2016. |
