Chris Riedy

University of Technology Sydney

Chris Riedy is Professor of Sustainability Governance and Director of Higher Degree Research at the Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology Sydney. He is a transdisciplinary academic with a career focus on governance for sustainable futures. Chris draws on sociological and political theory, futures thinking and transformative science to design, facilitate and evaluate practical experiments in transformative change towards sustainable futures. He has a strong research interest in the potential for sharing to contribute towards a sustainable future.

Rosalind Hattingh

Sabinet Online

Founded by libraries in the early 1980’s, Sabinet’s core purpose was to promote resource sharing amongst libraries in South Africa. Since then, a growing number of libraries have been co-operating to build the South African National Union Catalogue (SACat), and to participate in national and international resource sharing. 

Rosalind Hattingh is the Managing Director of Sabinet Online and a member of the company’s board of directors. She has significant industry experience, having joined Sabinet in 1986. Prior to being appointed Managing Director in 2009, she held the positions of IT Director and Director of Product Management.

Rosalind manages the company’s direction and strategy, ensuring that all business activity supports Sabinet’s continued mission of empowering people through access to information and supporting education and upliftment.

Jessica Coates

Australian Libraries Copyright Committee

Jessica Coates is a copyright and communications policy expert with nearly two decades of experience working in Australia and overseas. She is the Copyright and Policy Advisor of the Australian Libraries Copyright Committee, and the Executive Officer of the Australian Digital Alliance. Prior to joining the ALCC and ADA, she worked as the Global Network Manager of non-profit Creative Commons, supporting the activities of its international community. She has also had stints as a copyright and broadcasting policy adviser for the Australian government and industry, and as an academic, lecturer and educator. She has law degrees from both the Australian National University and Melbourne University.

Margaret Allen

State Library of Western Australia

Margaret Allen PSM, FALIA has been the CEO and State Librarian of the State Library of Western Australia since 2004. The State Library has responsibility to collect, preserve and make available Western Australia’s documentary history and also takes a leadership role with the 232 public libraries throughout the State. The State Library’s Better Beginnings program is recognised as Australia’s most innovative and extensive family literacy program reaching more than 650,000 families since its inception. Margaret’s professional achievements include being a member of the International Federation Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Governing Board (2015 – 2017), an inaugural IFLA Leaders Associate, Chair of the IFLA eLending Working Group, Chair of the Australian Libraries Copyright Committee, Board member of the Australian Digital Alliance, Past President of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), member of the Public Lending Right Committee and member of the ALIA Book Industry and eLending Advisory Group. Margaret was awarded a Public Service Medal in 2018 for outstanding public services to the library sector. Margaret’s previous positions include senior management roles at the State Library of South Australia and a variety of roles in both public and special libraries. Margaret spent some 15 years working with a library management systems vendor in all aspects of the business including support, development, marketing and consulting roles in Australia and overseas.

Kaye Foran

Te Puna Services, National Library of New Zealand

Kaye Foran is a Te Puna Specialist for Te Puna Services at the National Library of New Zealand. Her main focus is supporting the national interloan service (Te Puna Interloan, including the trans-Tasman gateway) offered as part of the Te Puna suite of services to New Zealand libraries. Kaye is currently Chairperson of the OCLC Interloan Users Group of New Zealand and Australia (OIUGANZ).

Monika Szunejko

Libraries Australia

Monika Szunejko commenced her library career in Perth, Western Australia in 1989, working in academic, public, state and more academic libraries in Australia and Wales before joining the National Library of Australia in 2013. Since first logging on to Australian Bibliographic Network (ABN) in 1989 she has been an advocate for collaboration and our national resource sharing services, ABN, Kinetica, Libraries Australia and Trove, and served on the Libraries Australia Advisory Committee from 2006-2011. Monika is currently a member of the Australian Committee on Cataloguing, the ALIA Board of Directors, and Director, Libraries Australia at the National Library. In these roles her focus is on serving the Australian library community, making data and information work for people, connecting libraries to the National Bibliographic Database to achieve their goals, and stewarding Libraries Australia to help solve the challenges facing the 21st century library profession.

Margarita Moreno

National Library of Australia

Margarita Moreno is the Manager, Document Supply Service at the National Library of Australia, where she has worked since 1999. Margarita has extensive experience in the area of interlibrary loans, document supply and resource sharing. She has participated in a number of projects including the review of workflows for interlibrary loan, document supply and photographic requests at the National Library; streamlining processes and eliminating efficiencies across formats; the Interlibrary Loans Benchmarking Study and the development of the Interlibrary Resource Sharing Code. Margarita served on the IFLA Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Standing Committee between 2005-2013, and is the current Chair of the ALIA Interlibrary loan advisory committee.

Thomas Girke

CSIRO

Thomas leads a team responsible for development and access to information resources at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia’s national science agency. Thomas’ accountabilities include finance, collection access and management, acquisitions, inter-library loans and library systems. 

Jeanette Longwood

Library and Information Service Psyciatric Services Library, Graylands Hospital

Jeanette has managed the Psychiatric Services Library since 2008. This is a state-wide library service for staff employed in a WA public mental health service. Their website provides one stop access to both statewide and locally purchased resources, and is accessible from work or home. They use LADD, GratisNet and Subito for document delivery options. They are part of the West Australian Libraries Network (WAHLiN), an active group of health librarians that work collaboratively to provide resources and services to their members.

Sharan Harvey

Brisbane City Council 

Sharan Harvey is the Manager Library Services for Brisbane City Council. This is the largest public library service in Australia and serves a population of more than 1 million people across a 1,340km2 area through 33 branches, a mobile library, pop-up library and the City Archives. Sharan leads more than 350 staff to deliver services for more than 6 million customer visits each year. She has more than 30 years experience working in the Library industry most of which has been in public libraries. Sharan is currently the President of the Queensland Public Libraries Association in Australia. In the June 2013 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, Sharan was awarded the Public Service Medal for outstanding public service to the Brisbane City Council, particularly to the Brisbane City Council Library Service. 

Robert Gerrity

Monash University

Bob Gerrity is responsible for all aspects of Monash University Library with a particular focus on building conducive learning and research environments, enhancing the relevance and discovery of our information resources, building staff capability, and ensuring the delivery of enriching public programs and outreach. Prior to his appointment at Monash in March 2018, Mr Gerrity was the University Librarian at the University of Queensland (2012-2017). Earlier he spent 19 years in technology leadership positions at the Boston Public Library and the Boston College Libraries. Mr Gerrity is particularly interested in the application of current and emerging technologies to ensure that library collections, spaces, and services remain relevant in the digital environment and deliver the greatest possible benefit to Monash students, academics, and researchers. Mr Gerrity is a member of the Executive Committee of the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) and the Libraries Australia Advisory Committee (LAAC), and several library industry advisory boards.

Cheryl Hamill

Fiona Stanley Hospital

Cheryl Hamill manages a health library that serves staff across two area health service in Perth (East and South Metropolitan Health Services). With a team of 10.8 FTE in total, and bases at Fiona Stanley and Royal Perth Hospitals, the Library is a part of the WA Health Libraries Network (WAHLiN). Cheryl will clock up 40 years in health libraries on 10 May 2018 – how’s that for synchronicity with ShareIt! She has served in various capacities with the Health Libraries Australia Group of ALIA throughout her career and was surprised (and delighted) to be made a Fellow of ALIA in 2013.
