Adult Learning Australia

In 2021, ALIA supported the Declaration statement in support of literacy and numeracy for all adult Australians alongside Adult Learning Australia, the Australian Council for Adult Literacy, the Australian Council of Social Services, the Australian Coalition for Education and Development, the Reading Writing hotline, the Australian Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association and the Literacy for Life Foundation. 

Your Health Your Hands

Your Health in Your Hands is delivered by Good Things Foundation Australia, funded by the Australian Digital Health Agency and supported by the Australian Library and Information Association.

Australian Media Literacy Alliance

In 2020, ALIA became a founder member of the Australian Media Literacy Alliance an unincorporated group of organisations whose objectives are closely aligned. 

Blue Shield Australia

ALIA is a founding member of Blue Shield Australia an international organisation, working to protect the world's cultural heritage threatened by armed conflict and natural disasters.

The ALIA Disaster Management for Libraries. Part One - Guide (2nd Edition 2019) takes you through the practical steps to safeguard your library or cultural institution in advance for possible disasters. 

The ALIA Disaster Management for Libraries. Part Two - Disaster Plan Template (2nd Edition 2019) has been flexibly designed for your library or cultural institution to develop its Disaster Plan. It is to be used in conjunction with Part One, which provides an overview and context for the Disaster Plan. 

The ALIA Disaster Scenarios for Staff Training Sessions can be used in practical training sessions to prepare staff and management to implement disaster plans.

Book industry

ALIA is a member of Books Create Australia, with the Australian Booksellers Association, Australian Publishers Association and Australian Society of Authors. We run the Australia Reads campaign and we are collaborating around ALIA’s Online Storytime pilot program.

GLAM Peak

ALIA was a founder member of GLAM Peak when it was established in 2015, bringing together galleries, libraries, archives, museums, historical societies and other collecting institutions. Our shared priority is increased digital access to collections.

International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions

ALIA is an active member of IFLA . Our engagement is informed by our International Relations Advisory Committee.

National Early Language and Literacy Coalition

This alliance of organisations working together to develop a national early language and literacy strategy, with support from the Ian Potter Foundation, emerged from ALIA’s National Early Literacy Summit in 2016.
