Course Overview

This course is designed for individuals who wish to explore and enhance their team leadership and communication skills.   This course is ideal for the ‘emerging leader’. The course content is designed to provide participants with an insight into a variety of key team leadership capabilities.  Participants will be provided with a variety of resources and encouraged to draw on their own learning experiences with the purpose of personal growth and development.

Course Content

  • Lead and support a team to identify and establish team objectives and work processes in line with the organisation’s goals and objectives.
  • Encourage and support team members to incorporate innovation in their day-to-day activities and measure their own, and team members productivity against expected outcomes.
  • Provide opportunities for team members to plan, make decisions and assist each other in undertaking their required roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide feedback, address issues, concerns, and problems as they arise.
  • Establish open communication with own line manager and team.

Course Delivery

This course will be delivered using the Sydney TAFE NSW Moodle (Online Learning Management System).  The time investment required to work through the self-paced content, complete automated self-marking activities and finalise the course is 6-8 hours in total.  You work at your own pace and complete activities throughout the scheduled open and closing dates of the online platform.

Once you enroll, we will provide a short mini clip outlining how to engage with the online platform, how to get started and ultimately how to succeed.

The online platform will include a collaborative forum space where all participants can ask questions and collaborate.  An experienced TAFE NSW teacher will monitor the forum and contribute as required.

Specific times or technology needed:

The online learning platform will be available to you 24/7.  This means you can engage in the course work at a time that suits you!  Participants require a computer with internet access.

What to expect once you have registered

Following the close of registrations, which is 29 August (midnight), we will be in contact with you before the course commences to provide you with further information about the next steps of enrolment: TAFE student registration and Moodle login set up.

Cancellation Policy

Registrations up to 3 weeks prior = full refund
Registrations between 1-2 weeks prior = 50% refund
Registrations cancelled 1 week prior or later = no refund
Registrations can be transferred to other individuals at no cost (in the same registration category).
