An introduction to measuring research impact

Event Description

Learn about different ways to measure research impact and how to appropriately use social media channels to increase the impact of research. The session contains a brief introduction to scholarly citations analysis, known as traditional research impact metrics, research impact on people life (through framework and models) and tracking research impact via social media.  Learn about different ways of measuring research impact and considerations for increasing online presence. Assist your clients to increase the visibility and discoverability of their research outcome.

Biography

Leila is a published researcher and a Research Librarian in Macarthur Clinical School, South Western Sydney Local Health District. Previously she worked in Flinders University Library and Flinders College of Medicine and Public Health as a Health Research Librarian and a part-time lecturer. Leila has been involved in teaching Research Skills, Systematic Reviews, Evidence Based Healthcare and Research Impact to clinicians, students and academics. She is also a conjoint academic status with School of Medicine, Western Sydney University. Leila supports research and education needs of the Library users from established researchers to higher degree research students and health professional staff. She provides consultation on systematic reviews methodology, study designs, research impact metrics and citation analysis, research data management and scholarly publishing.  

As a research team member in systematic reviews and Clinical Guideline/Policy development projects, Leila assists with systematic review protocols planning and registration, designing comprehensive searches, critical appraisal and training systematic reviews tools and methodology documentation.
