Ronald Briggs

He trained as a schoolteacher, teaching primary schools in Moree and Sydney before starting work at the State Library of NSW in 1991. He graduated as a librarian in 1995 working to assist Aboriginal people and their communities to access material from the Library's collections that relate to them. Ronald spent two years with AIATSIS in their Family History Unit assisting members of the Stolen generations in their searches for family information and working with Link-Up services for family re-union. Ronald now works with the Library's Research & Discovery Branch, helping to curate Library exhibitions and bring in new Indigenous material to the Library's collection. He is also an adviser on Indigenous collections at the Powerhouse Museum and steering committee member of ACHAA - the NSW Aboriginal Culture, Heritage and Arts Association.
