Mary Coe

Mary Coe is a PhD student at the School of Information and Communication Studies at Charles Sturt University (CSU). She is currently working as a metadata analyst at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare but also has extensive experience with book, journal, database and website indexing. She is Editor of The Indexer: The International Journal of Indexing. Mary holds a Master of Information Studies (Applied Research) degree from CSU and a Bachelor of Arts (English) degree from Trinity College in Washington, DC. In her doctoral research, Mary is investigating how readers use search tools, including indexes, in nonfiction print books and ebooks. Mary has presented at numerous professional and academic conferences, including the Australian and New Zealand Society of Indexers (ANZSI), Bibliographical Society of Australia and New Zealand (BSANZ), Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd), Research Applications in Information and Library Studies (RAILS), Society for the History of Authorship, Reading and Publishing (SHARP).
