Anne Rauch

Anne has an extensive career in the disability and community sectors. She has worked with children and adults who have a range of disabilities including intellectual disability, autism, mental health issues, physical disability, and vision and hearing impairment. She has experience working in community development and health promotion and has a strong interest in social justice. 

She developed an early commitment to the inclusion and value of peer workers including co-training with staff with an intellectual disability in the Rights at Work Project at the Intellectual Disability Rights Service, Redfern Legal Centre. At the Community and Health Accreditation and Standards Program (CHASP) she trained consumers with lived experience of mental illness to be review team members for accreditation. And at the Fiji Alliance for Mental Health (FAMH) she trained peer workers for Youth Champs for Mental Health and carers.

In her varied career she has worked at Early Childhood Intervention Australia NSW/ACT to promote inclusion of children in the broader community and at Family Planning NSW as a disability educator during deinstitutionalisation. 

She has also worked with Aboriginal communities, and with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. She is particularly proud of the successful Aboriginal Mentoring Program developed with Julie Moore, an Aboriginal public servant in the Department of Premier and Cabinet, when she was working at the Institute of Public Administration Australia (NSW).
She is the author of several articles, books and online training programs in the areas of disability and inclusion.

She loves reading, and as a young woman, worked in the book trade. 

Her qualifications include a Diploma of Government (Policy Development); Diploma of Government (Project Management); Diploma of Government (Management) Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Lead Auditor ISO 9000 series; Bachelor of Arts (Macquarie University); and a partially completed Diploma of Law (Legal Practitioners Admission Board).
