Name: Suzy Zail
Bio: Suzy started her working life as a solicitor but left the law to write The Tattooed Flower, an account of how her father survived the Holocaust. Inspired by his war-time experience, Suzy wrote The Wrong Boy, a Young adult novel set in Auschwitz which was short-listed for Book of the Year by the Children’s Book Council of Australia and was listed as an Outstanding International Book by the U.S. Board of Books for Young people. Continuing to chase stories she cared deeply about, Suzy wrote Alexander Altmann A10567, a CBCA Notable book, inspired by the true story of a Holocaust Guide from Melbourne who was drafted into Auschwitz’s elite horse commando. Suzy’s latest YA novel, I Am Change, is the story of a young Ugandan girl’s struggle to stay in school. Her books are studied in schools across Australia and are published in the U.K. Europe, the United States and Canada.
