ALIA HLA: Advanced Searching Workshop: Advanced Search Techniques for Systematic Reviews, HTA and Guidelines (Workshop for Researchers)

This full day session (9am – 4pm) will provide opportunities to learn new techniques, to discuss best approaches, to share insights and to assess variations in current best practice. The workshop will be facilitated by Carol Lefebvre who is experienced in literature searching to inform systematic reviews and HTAs and in conducting research into the evidence base for information retrieval.

How school libraries can improve engagement with the differentiated learner

This morning seminar is for primary and secondary teacher librarians and others who are responsible for school library services and/or involved in learning and teaching programs. As part of the government Special Needs Plan for VIT registration, teachers are now required to build their capacity to teach learners with disability. Whilst considering one’s teaching context and characteristics and needs of our learners participants will have the opportunity to learn about Dyslexia in reading and how data contributes to building a better understanding of the learner.

This morning seminar is for primary and secondary teacher librarians and others who are responsible for school library services and/or engaging students in reading and developing a love of literature. Author Fiona Wood will talk about her writing and research process. There will be an opportunity for signings. Find out how three schools promote reading in their school communities. A workshop to share successful reading strategies and to prepare resources for this year's CBCA theme, Escape to Everywhere.
