This year was our biggest year yet with over 460,000 participants in 3,100 libraries, schools, childcare centres and various locations around Australia! Ursula Dubosarsky did a special reading of her book Too Many Elephants in this House at Customs House Library in Sydney. Andrew Joyner the illustrator also joined her and drew some elephants in front of the audience.
Ku-ring-gai Library in St Ives NSW
St Ives library was lucky to have two very special guests join them to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime along with twenty seven enthusiastic children and toddlers. Too Many Elephants in this House was beautifully read by Margie Abbott followed by a Mandarin version of the story told by Journalist Lucy Chen from SBS. It was a wonderful experience for the children to have Margie present, as she is such a gifted and animated storyteller. Lucy followed and encouraged the children to participate by teaching them a few words of Mandarin.
