Check out the conference wrap!

We had a great day at ALIA National 2014 Conference yesterday inspired by the British Library’s Roly Keating who spoke of the challenges that the Library faced as it adapted to the digital age.

Early in the day, our conference hashtag #national14 was top trending on Twitter as our presenters took the stage to give us LIS career advice and insights into the projects and lessons they have learnt in the workplace. We heard from speakers who have worked in central Australia, PNG and Vietnam. Their advice: travel and volunteer (if you are able) to take advantage of exciting opportunities.

We ended the day with the Pierce Brothers in the exhibition hall and some gaming in the Mercure lounge.

Today we look forward to keynote speaker Susan Benton, President and CEO of Urban Libraries Council who will talk about essential collaboration.

Streamed sessions continue morning and afternoon — so hard to decide which ones to attend.

Then it’s the conference dinner and don’t forget your dancing shoes! See you on the dance floor delegates!
