Thursday, 13 April 2017, Canberra: The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) Board Election 2017 is now complete and we would like to thank all ALIA Members who took part in the vote and those who nominated to join the Board of Directors.
There was an excellent response to the election with 28.5% of Members taking part in the voting.
We are pleased to announce the following Members have been elected and will take up their positions on the ALIA Board for a two-year term following the Annual General Meeting on 17 May, 2017, in Canberra at ALIA House.
Vice President (President-elect) Lyndall Osborne
Lyndall is currently the Executive Director Collections at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) in Canberra. Lyndall's election was previously announced on 3 February 2017.
Director - Jonathon Guppy
Jonathon is currently the Digital Initiatives Librarian at the Reserve Bank of Australia in Sydney. He participates in the ALIA PD Scheme, the AGLIN Futures Task Force - Executive Committee and the Reserve Bank LGBTI and Allies Employee Resource Group - Executive Committee.
Director - Anne Reddacliff
Anne is currently Librarian, Indigenous Services, at the State Library of NSW in Sydney. Anne's activities include ALIA Sydney, Coordinator & Event Officer: 2014-2017; IFLA LGBTQ Users Special Interest Group, Convenor: 2016-2018; IFLA WLIC Session Chair: 2017; and International Librarians Network, Mentor & Blog writer: 2016.
They will join the current Vice President, Vicki McDonald, as she moves into the role of President; Director Jane Cowell, Institutional Director Marian Morgan-Bindon and Director Monika Szunejko.
We thank former ALIA President Tricia Genat and Directors Fiona Emberton and Ghylene Palmer for their service on the ALIA Board.
