ALIA submission on National Research Infrastructure Capability Issues Paper

Friday, 4 November, 2016, Canberra: ALIA has made a submission to the Federal Department of Education and Training on the National Research Infrastructure Capability Issues Paper.

Submissions are being considered as part of a development of the 2016 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap. This is to support future investment decisions in research infrastructure. This will ensure Australian researchers can access world class major national research infrastructure.

In summary, ALIA's submission recommends:

  • Investment in the Trove platform;
  • The implementation of open access principles;
  • Copyright law reform; and 
  • Make explicit reference within the roadmap to the important role of library and information professionals in the research environment.
