This year's Library and Information Week theme was 'Join the Dots'. This theme was left open to interpretation with many libraries creating exciting games, networking morning teas and joining the dots information pathways in their communities. We were thrilled with the creativity that came out of this years theme, here are some of the 2014 highlights.
Campbelltown Library NSW
Campbelltown Library took themselves out into the community and had a pop up library at the Civic Centre. They offered tours around their information services, ebook lending and information about books they have available.
CCH Australia started up a social media driven competition through Library and Information Week. They wanted to see who could take the best selfie (referred to as a 'shelfie') in a library. The prize was $200. Take a look at some of the 'shelfies' below!
Hume Central Secondary College Library VIC
Hume Central Secondary Library created a wall of dots for LIW, asking their students 'which is the last book that you read'?
Mount Isa City Library QLD
Mount Isa City Library's display for LIW. There was a display on the end of every bookshelf, well done.
Campaspe Regional Library VIC
We love seeing personalised flyers to promote Library and Information Week. It's a great way to promote your profession. Look at all of Campaspe Regional Library's events — wow!
Mary MacKillop Library at Saint Patrick's College TAS
What a fantastic way to celebrate LIW and engage clients in your library.
Australia's Biggest Morning Tea at ALIA House ACT
We had a BIG morning tea with the ALIA House staff as well as the newly appointed ALIA Board. It was an enjoyable morning for everyone — and all for a good cause.
