The Future of Libraries and AI

Half-day PD seminar - Melbourne

Friday 24 May, 1.00pm - 6.00pm

Tour from 1pm
Seminar from 2pm

With the seemingly unstoppable rise of the AI voice activated assistants and more and more people saying ‘I just need to ask Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant to find what I need to know’, it is time to explore what artificial intelligence means for libraries.

Join ALIA Victoria and Professor Toby Walsh, a leading researcher in the field of AI, at the La Trobe University Library (Borchardt Library), Melbourne Campus (Bundoora) on Friday May 24th for an afternoon discussing all things AI. Join a conversation about what it might mean for your library - now and in the future.

You're also invited to a pre-program tour of the La Trobe University Library with Fiona Salisbury, University Librarian, from 1pm.

Thanks to our sponsors and the support of ALIA Members, this event is provided free, however a 'gold coin' donation to cover catering would be appreciated on the day.

Sponsored by Yarra Plenty Regional Library and La Trobe University.
