Primary tabs

The Friends of South Australia’s Archives (FSAA) AGM will be Wednesday, 9th September at 6pm, at the Box Factory Community Centre, 59 Regent Street South, Adelaide.

Presenter – Ms Lauren Gobbett on ‘Preserving our History & FAIR’

Preserving our History & FAIR

Are you passionate about preserving, organising and accessing information? Are you worried about the future of South Australian libraries and archives?

Join us for a talk by Lauren Gobbett about the FAIR campaign and advocating for the preservation of history.

FAIR stands for Freedom of Access to Information and Resources. The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) created FAIR to give people a way to support all kinds of libraries and archives. FAIR lobbies for well-funded libraries and archives, copyright law reform, the digitisation of our history, evidence-based policy making, lifelong learning and qualified library staff in schools. FAIR was created by ALIA to bring together all of its advocacy work - www.fair.alia.org.au

Lauren Gobbett is the ALIA South Australian State Manager. Lauren represents ALIA on the General Committee of the History Council of South Australia (HCSA) and is currently studying a Bachelor of International Studies (Honours) History at Flinders University. Her thesis is about the evolution and preservation of history groups, with a focus on the history and archives of the Historical Society of South Australia and the HCSA.
