This year we have changed the online forum to the webinar mode. The first webinar for the year is titled: Dyslexia in Reading – What we need to know and will be held via GoToWebinar on Tuesday 8 May 2018 at 7.30pm AEST.
It is essential to build capacity to teach learners with disability as well as to consider one’s teaching context and to understand the characteristics and needs of our learners. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about Dyslexia in reading and how to support students.
Big tech can mean big ideas. What should we expect from the development and evolution of technology over the coming years, and how might it impact on what we do and the way we do it? Telstra's Head of Technology, Andrew Scott, will share ideas about what our future might hold. Kate Torney, State Library of Victoria's CEO will respond to the presentation and draw out some of the ideas presented.
The announcement of the 2018 winer of the annual awards will be announced over dinner. Come to be inspired by what the winner and nominees achieved. Network with colleagues.

A’Mhara McKey, eLearning Librarian, Library Services, Department of Health, will discuss ways of illustrating the value the library adds to its clients. There will also be a tour of the Health Library.
Kate Bunker (ALIA Education Research and Policy) will be presenting about the PD Scheme; Sue McKerracher (ALIA National CEO) will be here too to give an update on national matters. We will also discuss the benefits of membership and ideas on attracting new members.
