ALIA URLs: Visit and tour of John Howard Library, Australian Museum of Democracy

Come along and see the brand new Howard Library at the Australian Museum of Democracy. Established by the Public Leadership Research Group, University of New South Wales Canberra, the collection includes non-official documents, personal papers and memorabilia from John Howard’s time as Prime Minister of Australia between 1996-2007.

ALIA CRR (Canberra and Region Retirees)

ALIA CRR (Canberra and Region Retirees) will meet again on Wednesday 4 July from 11am at Bookplate. This will be the fifth such gathering at Bookplate - newcomers are always welcome! If anyone is visiting from interstate do drop in the connect and chat with retired Library people from Canberra and surrounding regions.

The usual pattern is for some people to come at 11am for coffee and some to come later for lunch, and that can extend towards 2pm.

ALIA SNGG VIC: Librarians & Dragons transferable skills workshop

ALIA Students and New Graduates Group welcomes Librarians & Dragons to Melbourne!Be prepared to be taken on a quest! Librarians & Dragons is an action packed transferable skills workshop. It brings together ideas and concepts from role playing games, such as dungeons and dragons and escape the rooms, to offer a different way of viewing our professional identity and professional development.

ALIA Hunter Social Event

ALIA Hunter will be holding a social event on Saturday the 23rd of June at Strike Bowling at Charlestown Square.

Meet at 1:55pm for a 2pm start.

Everyone is welcome, including partners and children.

We will be ten-pin bowling and then playing mini golf afterwards; the cost will be $25 payable to Strike Bowling.

ALIA WA: GLAM Peak reception

GLAM association members, we are holding a reception in the Great Southern Room of the State Library of WA, 25 Francis Street, Perth, on Tuesday 26 June, from 5.30pm – 7.30pm. We hope you will be able to join us for drinks, nibbles, networking, the celebration of the third anniversary of GLAM Peak and the successful delivery of the Digital Access to Collections project.
