ALIA’s 80th Birthday Party Celebration and 30-60 year ALIA Members Pin Presentations

ALIA members are invited to attend the Australian Library and Information Association’s 80th Birthday celebration at Government House, Hobart and to acknowledge the professional contribution of ALIA members who have been members for 30, 40, 50 or 60 years.

Come along in your best 1930s themed outfits!

Let's celebrate US! Libraries, librarians and information professionals, working together for the betterment of our profession and our communities for 80+ years!

There will be dancing, food, birthday cake and barefoot bowls (if you’re game!).

The evening will also include a special presentation for members who have been a part of the Association for 30, 40 or 50 years.

Tickets are $10 each for ALIA members, $30 for non-ALIA members and FREE if you are recieving a pin.

ALIA webinar: Proposed changes to Constitution

In our 80th year, 2017, it is appropriate to recognise that the context within which our Association exists, the ALIA Constitution, warrants reflection. Like past leaders in our profession our Board is proposing a change to the ALIA Constitution to recognise current concerns of our age and the global context in which we work and live.

The board is proposing that we include ‘environment’ in the first Object:
