The State Library of Western Australia seeks to treasure the stories of Western Australia, champion literacy and learning, cultivate creative ideas and lead the development of the Western Australian public library network.

 

Conditions

This is a part-time 60 hours p/fortnight (0.8 FTE), permanent vacancy.

The position may require out of hours attendance at functions and events. Some interstate travel may be required from time to time.

A current (no older than 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Department and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered for permanent and fixed term, part- time and full- time positions.

 

Location

This position is located in the Perth Cultural Centre hub close to Yagan Square and the bustling café, tourist and shopping districts.

 

Job Description

This position is integral for the delivery of exceptional communication and marketing, together with fundraising initiatives, that enhances the reputation of the State Library (SLWA) as a cultural institution of excellence for everyone.  This position operates at an organisation-wide level and also provides advice to the Library’s Executive Team on corporate affairs and media liaison.
