The National Library of Australia develops, curates and preserves an astounding and diverse collection that inspires, delights and educates Australians. Through easy and efficient access to the Library’s collections onsite and online, publications and engaging exhibitions and outreach programs, and by fostering scholarship, we extend understanding of issues of contemporary significance, build strong community connections and support lifelong learning. Our collection comprises some ten million items, ranging from books and journals to paintings, drawings and prints, manuscripts, photographs, maps, aerial photographs, music scores, oral history recordings and archived websites.
The Corporate Services Division has a vacancy within our Finance Team for an ongoing EL 1, Assistant Director.
As Assistant Director you will work in a small team with responsibilities to deliver robust and accurate internal and external budgeting, reporting and accounts processing. You will support the CFO to plan, manage and report on the Library’s financial management arrangements, performance and ensure that policies and practices align with legislative and regulatory requirements. You will also manage a small team and deliver timely monthly reports, develop robust budgets and forecasts for the Library and be able to liaise effectively with stakeholders in the Library.
To be successful in this role you will need to have broad experience in finance and be willing to be hands in order to deliver on set priorities, as well as have experience in leading and managing a team.
