Celebrate International School Library Day 2019

Canberra, 22 October 2019: Today, we celebrate the inaugural International School Library Day in Australia, as part of International School Library Month.
‘International School Library Day is a good opportunity for library staff to promote what makes their library great and how it contributes to the learning and community life at their school,’ Sue McKerracher, ALIA CEO, said.

ALIA has created free resources which you can use for your celebrations including social media tiles and bookmarks. We have also created a list of suggested activities for the day including hosting a scavenger hunt in your library; creating a display of books from around the world to display in your library; and encouraging your library users to make a short video about what your library means to them.

You can use social media to tell us how you create using #ISLD2019 and you can send any pictures or feedback to [email protected].

For more information see the ALIA website.
