Maggie Patton in conversation with Donald Kerr, co-director of the Centre for the Book at the University of Otago.

For 32 years Donald Kerr worked with heritage materials in New Zealand; the Sir George Grey Special Collections, Auckland City, and latterly, Special Collections at the University of Otago. During that time he curated some 120 exhibitions and has had a number of books and articles published that focus on portions of these particular collections: Frank Reed, Esmond de Beer, Sir George Grey and Dr T. M. Hocken. He has now retired and continues to work on book projects that deal with the formation of private libraries in New Zealand. He is co-director of the Centre for the Book at the University of Otago and an Hon. Fellow of the English and Linguistics department.
