The aim of the Concord School Library Web Page Award is to promote the involvement of school librarians in the development of the Web and to promote excellence in school library Web sites.

 

The library staff of Trinity College (Rosemary Horton, Jenni Properjohn and Catherine Hamilton)  and our library P.L. Duffy Resource Centre, Trinity College have won a Best Practice award for this year from the WASLA logo presented on Monday 16 October,2000 at the School Library Day dinner. "The Western Australian School Library Association is committed to ensuring that best practice is part of the functionality of all school libraries and encourages, through the pursuit of excellence, practitioners with high standards within their school day"

 The IAWMD (International Association of Web Masters and Designers) now serves more than 230,000 Members and Affiliates in more than 145 Countries Worldwide!  The membership comprises of people who are interested in promoting and maintaining an ethical and quality Internet. The association's objectives include education and awareness, informational networking, and the development of strategic alliances with other Internet organizations and affiliations

 One of the major external services provided by the IAWMD is the Golden Web Awards, which recognises excellence in web development. It is highly sought after and thousands of submissions are received each year.

 The websites submitted are judged and scored in three primary categories: Design, Content and Originality. The Golden Web Award is awarded to designers whose web design, originality and content have achieved levels of excellence deserving of recognition.

Only the best sites are voted to receive the Golden Web Award.  The criterion for winning remains a challenge to even the best Webmasters, artists and designers.  That being said, the primary benefit of the Golden Web Award is the recognition of your commitment to the pursuit of website excellence.  Further, it represents that your work is considered an outstanding website, incorporating high standards of design, originality and content.   The Golden Web Award lets others know that you are viewed as a respected professional by your peers, one who is deserving of recognition.
