Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain, So, Insy wincy spider crawled up the spout again. Now with a big deep, deep voice sing..... The big fat hairy spider crawled up the water spout, Down came the rain and washed the spider out. Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain, So the big fat hairy spider crawled up the spout again. Then with a very high squeaky voice sing..... The itsy bitsy spider crawled up the water spout, Down came the rain and wash the spider out. Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain, So the itsy bitsy spider crawled up the spout again.
Ideas for activity and or craft:
- COLOURING IN - S is for spider colouring and maze activity sheet
- SPIDER WEB (Easier to show than to describe)
Make one to show the children and carers the end result (My daughter used this idea at playgroup, without the web, the kids just placed lots of items between the contact and the kids loved it. We have ours hanging in a window) Materials - Piece of contact, a rectangle bigger than A4, when folded in half is a square - Wool, cut into strands about 30cm or let the children cut their own lengths - Wool handle so the web can hang up in a window, etc. - Cotton wool, use a large pad of cotton wool and pull apart for thin threads - printed pictures of spiders or have the children draw and cut out their own Instructions - Peel back half of the contact backing - Place wool on the sticky contact in the shape of a spider's web (to make it easier have a printed spider web page to place underneath) - Add thin cotton wool threads - Have a piece of wool in the middle at the top so you can hang the web - Don't' forget to place the spider on the web - Peel back the remaining contact and place carefully over so everything is sealed in the contact
