Registration

Q. Where can I register to take part in the Summer Reading Club 2011/12?
A. Please send an email to summerreadingclub@slq.qld.gov.au with the following details:-

  • Council Region/Library Service
  • Number of Branches
  • Contact Staff Member Details
  • Contact phone, email and address

The main communication tool for this year's Summer Reading Club will be our mailing list. Please send all of the email addresses that you wish to receive communications to be added to the list.


SRC Website

Q. When will the Summer Reading Club website go live?
A. The public website will go live shortly before the start of the program on 1st December 2011.


Merchandise

Q. What merchandise is available for libraries to support this year's Summer Reading Club?
A. Merchandise packs are available for purchase at the cost of $30. Packs include 4 x A2 posters, 100 x bookmarks, 100 x stickers and 150 x tattoos.

Q. Can incentives be purchased separately?
A. Only activity packs as described above will be available this year - items cannot be purchased separately.

Q. When will I receive the merchandise I ordered?
A. Libraries can expect to receive their merchandise by mid November 2011.

Q. Is the merchandise appropriate for younger children?
A. The merchandise has been designed and manufactured to be appropriate for children aged 0-16 years.


State Prizes

Q. Will there be any state prizes this year?
A. Sponsorship for prizes is currently being sourced - once more details have been finalised, information will be posted here. If you are holding a competition for the Summer Reading Club program and require prizes you may wish to approach a local business within your area who is willing to support the Summer Reading Club Program and donate prizes in kind to your library.


Activity sheets/booklets

Q. Will there be activity sheets this year?
A. This year, activity booklets will be provided as a template that libraries can print out. There will be 3 activity booklets aimed at different levels:-

  • Pre-School - for children under 5
  • Primary - for children 5-12 years
  • Secondary - for children 12-16 years

If you have an activity sheet that you have made that you would like included in the activity booklet, please email it to Katie Gibbs mailto:summerreadingclub@slq.qld.gov.au by 31 August 2011.
