The ALIA/ASLA Policy Advisory Group (PAG) advises the ALIA Board of Directors and the ASLA National Council on policy and advocacy issues. The Terms of Reference were revised in September 2009. ALIA Schools groupThe ALIA Schools group promotes the interests of school libraries and teacher-librarians, provides opportunities for professional development, lobbies for school libraries with state and local groups, liaises with other groups, identifies and analyses current trends in teacher librarianship, and maintains the profile of teacher-librarianship within ALIA.

The copyright advice service provides members with up-to-date information on copyright and how it affects the library and information sector. The service responds to members' queries about implementing their obligations under copyright and intellectual property law.
