Australasian Libraries in Emergency and Security (ALIES) ALIES is a cooperative information network which aims to serve and support the common interests of law enforcement, emergency services, and security agencies connected with human, natural, industrial and technological events and disasters.
ALIA Prison Libraries Group promotes the interests of prison and detention centre libraries and those who use and operate them. It provides opportunities for the sharing of information and resources to enable the provision of best possible library services to adults and children housed in all forms of detention.
National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual campaign put on by the Australian Library and Information Association. The campaign aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books. Now in its 16th successful year it is a colourful, vibrant and fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy using an Australian children's book that explores age appropriate themes and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Grades 1 to 6.
The week aims to raise the profile of libraries and information service professionals in Australia and gives libraries and information services the opportunity to showcase their resources, facilities, events, contacts and services through different programs and events to the community. This week is your chance to show your skills and your value to the community in a fun way!
