The Art Gallery of Western Australia was buzzing on Friday night 17 August as a diverse range of individuals gathered to celebrate the announcement of the annual Awards of the Children's Book Council of Australia. Devotees of Monet and Japan nipped an olive here and there as they straggled out of the glass doors at closing time.
