Biographical information
David J Jones studied modern languages at Oxford and librarianship at the University of New South Wales, where Margaret Trask was one of his lecturers. He has worked at the State Library of New South Wales since 1970 and is now its Library Building Consultant. He has written extensively on Australian library history, reference materials and library planning. His doctoral thesis was on W H Ifould and the development of library services in New South Wales.
