Changes to the AARL Editorial Board

At the beginning of the year the AARL editorial board welcomed as its new members Jan Fullerton, director general of the National Library of Australia; Imogen Garner, university librarian, Curtin; Cathrine Harboe-Ree, university librarian, Monash; Steve O'Connor, CEO, Caval; Dr Grace Saw, Dorothy Hill Library, University of Queensland; Ann Marie Schwirtlich, state librarian of Victoria; and Karen Vitullo, Australian Bureau of Statistics.

In thanking the outgoing members, Gaynor Austen, John Frylinck, Marilyn Hart, Margaret Henty, Edward Lim, Dagmar Parer and Helen Renwick, the chair of the Board, Earle Gow, noted the enormous contribution each had made to the work of the journal.

Continuing members of the Editorial Board are Earle Gow, university librarian, La Trobe (chair); Alex Byrne, university librarian, UTS; Vic Elliott, university librarian, ANU; Professor Gary Gorman, Victoria University of Wellington, NZ; John Levett, editor, The Australian Library Journal; Alison Ransome, University Librarian, Southern Cross University; Dagmar Schmidmaier, state librarian of NSW; and Peter Clayton, University of Canberra (editor).

Dagmar Schmidmaier, state librarian and chief executive of the State Library of NSW, and also an active member of AARL's Editorial Board, was awarded membership of the Order of Australia in this year's Australia Day honours. AARL adds its congratulations to her.
