Letter to the editor
Derek Fielding and the University of Queensland
I would be grateful if this missive could be published as a letter to the editor to update the previous article.
I am writing in relation to the article I prepared for the Fielding Festchrift produced as a special issue of Australian Academic & Research Libraries (vol 31 no3). I paid tribute to Derek's mentorship of future university librarians and mentioned several names of university librarians who had formerly worked at the University of Queensland Library. However, there were several I omitted and they should be included for the record.
University librarians who previously worked at the University of Queensland Library under Derek's leadership also include Madeleine McPherson, now at the University of Southern Queensland; Alison Ransome at the University of Southern Cross; Gulcin Cribb, who has been appointed to Bond University since the article was written; Fran Hegarty, who was at Swinburne University of Technology; Christine Henderson, who was at the University of New south Wales (known as Christine Fegan-Will and Christine Fox at the University of Queensland) and me. I also worked at the University of Queensland Library many years ago under Derek's leadership.
There may be others I have missed. I am indebted to Spencer Routh for this update and only sorry that I did not check with him before completing the article. I extend my apologies to those whose contributions I inadvertently omitted.
