Abstract: This article details key findings of recent empirical research conducted at the University of Technology, Sydney. The research was commissioned by the Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs (DETYA) to investigate students' experiences of the use of information and communications technologies (ICT) in the university's learning programs, in order to determine differences in reported experience of students from targeted equity groups and a control group. The implications of the research findings for university libraries are discussed.
