First graduates of ALIA accredited course in Fiji

The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) is pleased to announce that the first class from the ALIA accredited Diploma of Library and Information Services, Pacific TAFE, University of the South Pacific, Fiji, graduated on 21 March 2019.

Additionally, Elenoa Fonmanu received both an ALIA Student Award and the Vice Chancellor’s Prize for the best graduating student in the course.

‘An enormous amount of work has gone into developing the Pacific TAFE Diploma and we would like to congratulate the course coordinator, Liviana Tabalala and the teachers who have made this possible’, Sue McKerracher, ALIA CEO, said.

As a result of an accreditation application and 2017 panel visit, the Diploma of Library and Information Services at Pacific TAFE was accredited with initial red ALIA accreditation for a period of two years, from December 2017. This means that successful graduating students of the course are eligible for ALIA Library Technician membership.
