New build or refurbishment: New build
Architect: AMC Architecture
Project completed: 13/04/2015
Meyer Vandenberg first hired qualified library staff nine years ago. Since then, staffing hours have increased from 16 hours per week to 67.5 hours. The two library staff, one librarian and one library technician, manage the library collection of roughly 450 monographs, newspapers and a small range of journals. In addition, the firm has extensive online database subscriptions. The library offers a reference service, information literacy training and a current awareness service. Library staff are additionally responsible for the firm’s notably successful legal templates (legal precedents), a knowledge repository and the firm’s policies and processes. Library staff are active on the project committee overseeing the revitalisation of the firm’s intranet and also the firm’s Futures Committee.
We consciously aim to support all staff through the Meyer Vandenberg library service. There are approximately 80 staff at Meyer Vandenberg representing a range of qualifications and experience, from partners through to lodgement clerks. Most staff now engage with the library on some level, whether through using the collections (physical or online), using the legal precedents, attending training, using the reference service, consulting a policy or process or through engaging with library staff as they grab their morning coffee.
